Proper Fastening: Floors

Fasteners should be 3/8” in from the edges and corners. Fasteners should be driven straight in. Do not over-drive or under-drive fasteners, as that affects the strength and holding power.

Typical fastener spacing is 6” o.c. along edges and 12” o.c. in the field but there may be local code or design requirements that must be followed.

If a sub-floor adhesive is used, apply in a zig-zag pattern and only apply enough to install 2 panels at a time to avoid having the glue set before installation.
